Transform your Network Edge.
Megaport Virtual Edge (MVE) enables businesses to connect to Megaport’s leading ecosystem of service providers from any location around the world. It enables the hosting of Network Function Virtualization (NFV), such as SD-WAN capabilities, directly on Megaport’s global Software Defined Network (SDN).
Megaport Virtual Edge simplifies and automates connectivity between enterprise branches, data centres, and service providers.
MVE hubs are globally distributed and available on-demand. Customers can deploy, manage, and connect SD-WAN instances in minutes and move to an agile network model.
How it Works: MVE hubs are distributed globally as edge points across the Megaport platform. Connections are terminated from branch and on premises locations to the nearest MVE metro hub to localise traffic. Transit gateway functionality is built into each MVE and enables traffic flow to and from branch locations using SD-WAN technologies via internet connections.
Once connected, customers can provision capacity to and from their internet-enabled branch locations securely, to any endpoint or service provider on Megaport’s Interconnection Platform.
Extend the enterprise branch network to one or many cloud resources for one seamless network from branch to cloud
Connect the enterprise branch network to the enterprise data centre footprint covering more than 600 Megaport enabled global data centre locations
Neutrally connect multiple cloud regions, providers or accounts for network interoperation, privately
Utilise Megaport’s private network to reduce reliance on the internet and connect enterprise branch locations as required.
Megaport and Cisco have an initiative to integrate Megaport Virtual Edge with Cisco’s secure SD-WAN, powered by Viptela, to enable interoperation of Megaport’s SDN and Cisco’s SD-WAN fabric platform.
Megaport and Cisco have invited a select list of customers to participate in the MVE beta program. If you’d like to find out more out the program, please enquire here.
