We hit an awesome milestone last week

We hit an awesome milestone last week!

We don’t like to brag about the things we do at Megaport, even though we are all very proud of our service and the value it provides our customers, but we felt like we hit a recent milestone really worth shouting about.

I really feel like it is always appropriate for startups to celebrate successes, big and small. So we went ahead and dropped a press release about some good stuff we’ve done with AWS that I’m pleased about.

Accomplishing goals is great, but we aren’t close to done. While this latest press release from us talks about passing a valuable milestone, we also continue to talk about our upcoming expansion into new markets.

I’m excited to meet our future customers and looking forward to the next set of opportunities that North America and Europe offer to us. More details on this imminent expansion are coming very soon.

Lastly, it doesn’t go without saying, thanks to AWS for a great relationship. We’re glad to be a Tech Partner.

Megaport announces expansion plans

Brisbane, Australia – May 28, 2015:
Megaport, Asia’s leading elastic interconnection provider today announced it has provisioned its 100th Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect service in Australia.

In less than two short years people connected to Megaport can now access over 150 providers in over 26 on-net data centres in Australia and New Zealand and a further 8 data centres in Singapore and Hong Kong.  Megaport has also announced additional investment and future expansion plans for both US and European markets by the end of the current calendar year and is forging ahead to become the leading neutral, ubiquitous fabric to be available globally.

One of the key enablers of the growth and ongoing scalability of Megaport’s AWS Direct Connect Service is its automatic provisioning via its Web-based platform.Megaport has now provisioned direct connect services to AWS in Australia for carriers and large enterprises such as M2, Intrepid Travel, Hostworks, Sportsbet and JB Hi Fi

This is a major milestone for Megaport as it demonstrates we are delivering on our vision to become leading provider of elastic interconnectivity services otherwise known as Network-as-a-Service in Asia.
Megaport’s CEO, Denver Maddux.

We are very pleased to be working with Megaport, who have developed an innovative pay-as-you-go delivery model for network connectivity which aligns well with the AWS customer centric approach.
We applaud them on reaching this significant milestone and look forward to continuing this successful relationship in the future.”
Glenn Gore, APAC Head of Technology, AWS.
