November 9, 2016 — Megaport customers have even more choice in the NYC metro; more choice in locations to connect to, service providers to use, and data centres in which to locate their infrastructure. That’s thanks to our new partnership with New York Internet (NYI). In fact, NYC is now Megaport’s largest enabled city by number of connected data centres.
With NYI, we’ve expanded the Megaport software defined network to their data centres in New York and New Jersey. Through our partnership, NYI customers will be able to directly access key public cloud providers such as Amazon, Microsoft Azure, and Google as well as leading Internet Exchange services. Megaport customers will be able to directly connect to NYI’s managed services.
NYI’s primary data centre, 100 William Street, is located in the heart of Lower Manhattan and directly connects Wall Street firms and media enterprises to major exchanges and peering networks. Nearly seven years ago, NYI announced the expansion of a second data centre in New Jersey, 999 Frontier Road. Located less than 40 miles from Lower Manhattan, the New Jersey data centre is ideal for customers in need of disaster recovery and business continuity services.
With nearly 20 years of experience in the data centre business, NYI owns and operates four data centres in the United States. They offer colocation, managed services, managed hosting, disaster recovery solutions, and cloud computing.
