Rackspace Expands its Multi-Cloud Networking Capabilities through Megaport

Rackspace Megaport Partnership

Rackspace is expanding its multi-cloud networking capabilities today in a strategic partnership announcement with Megaport. We’re thrilled to announce that users will be able to interconnect seamlessly to Rackspace services and Rackspace customers will also be able to extend their reach to public cloud. It is exciting to finally be able to announce this partnership and help solve for customers’ ever increasing demand for hybrid cloud solutions.

The initial phase of this important partnership allows for customers to establish a RackConnect Global circuit to any Rackspace service from any of 40+ Megaported locations across North America.  This enhanced reach will immediately provide connectivity options from Central and East Coast regions in the US to West Coast data centers and across all public cloud regions to Amazon Web Services & Microsoft Azure.

“The best infrastructure for a site or app can require both cloud and single-tenant bare metal solutions, which is why Rackspace has created a true hybrid cloud environment with multi-cloud flexibility. This allows customers to connect single-tenant hosting to private and public clouds on the technology platform of their choice including AWS, Microsoft, OpenStack, and VMware. Megaport elastic interconnection allows us to better deliver this multi-cloud functionality to customers with high availability and private connections to on-premise data centers and public cloud environments across North America.”
Mark Roenigk, Chief Operating Officer at Rackspace

RackConnect Global provides highly available, secure, private network connectivity between Rackspace and your other data centers and the cloud provider of your choice, such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services*. Enterprise customers are continually looking for more choices when it comes to interconnection between their on premise or private data center deployments and their public cloud environments.  The alignment between Megaport and Rackspace gives customers more flexibility and scalability in how they manage their multi cloud environments.  With RackConnect Global customers can expect higher performance and increased security with their network connectivity.
