That’s why Megaport has joined more than 230 technology companies, researchers, and industry organizations in signing the Open Weights and American AI Leadership letter.
The letter advocates for policies that support open-weight AI models, healthy competition, and continued investment in the infrastructure that powers AI. It argues that AI leadership won’t be defined by a single frontier model, but by creating an open ecosystem where businesses, researchers, developers, and public institutions have the freedom to innovate and deploy AI in the ways that best meet their needs.
While the initiative focuses on American AI leadership, the principles outlined in the letter resonate globally as organizations look to adopt AI at scale.

Infrastructure is part of the AI conversation
At Megaport, these principles closely align with how we think about infrastructure.
