For February in Cloud, we’re pleased to share that in a strategic partnership move with Microsoft and Videotron’s 4Degrees Data Centers, we now provide Microsoft ExpressRoute locally to customers in the Montreal and Quebec City regions of Canada. Megaport is the first ExpressRoute provider for Microsoft in Quebec City.
As part of the partnership with 4Degrees, any customer in, or connected to the Montreal or Quebec City 4Degrees data centres is now just a VXC (virtual cross connect) away from provisioning ExpressRoute in under 60 seconds. Customers provision ExpressRoute by ordering VXCs in the Megaport web based portal (megaport.al).
As a result of bringing on these additional sites, we’ve deepened our global footprint and enabled Megaport customers from all around the world, a richer and more comprehensive connection to these regions. Further to that, Microsoft Azure customers in Canada can continue to take advantage of Megaport’s network to natively connect to “Canada Central” and “Canada East” Azure regions in either Quebec City or Toronto through Megaport. In addition, Canadian Microsoft Azure customers can also order VXCs to other Azure regions in the US, APAC, and Europe. For more details and videos on how Megaport enables ExpressRoute, see https://www.megaport.com/services/microsoft-expressroute/.
Megaport’s global layer 2 network allows enterprise customers to connect to cloud environments important to their business in many regions. For a complete list of data center points of presence in Canada and elsewhere see www.megaport.com/locations.
