Global Transit Joins the Megaport Platform

We are so thrilled to welcome Global Transit (GT) to the Megaport platform. GT is a premium telecommunications and solution provider, focusing in global data connectivity and Internet services. They are a TIME Company and build, own and manage a complex network of fibre optic and submarine cables that have local and global coverage. We are very happy to be partnering with a company of their magnitude, and they will be utilizing Megaport to amplify their IP Transit services, their end-to-end solutions enabling cloud connectivity for customers, and their padlock security services.

With this partnership, Megaport’s leading Elastic Interconnection services will be extended to GT customers in the ASEAN region who will be able to access our growing ecosystem of cloud service providers through direct connections as enabled by our direct relationships with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. For customers, this means lowered cost of cloud adoption, flexibility with regards to which data centres they can connect from, flexible billing, and customizability. Through GT’s extensive network in the ASEAN region, customers are now able to directly, cost-effectively, and rapidly access their cloud providers of choice without the hassle to make the previously-necessary investments to build that infrastructure.

The GT global footprint includes Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Japan, London, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States. In terms of investment in submarine fibre optic cables, they have 10% stake in the Unity cable system, connecting Japan and the US. Another notable project is Asia-Pacific Gateway (APG), a cable system that lands into nine countries in the region, making it one with the most connected countries for an Intra-Asia cable system.
