111 8th Avenue is the former Port Authority Commerce Building. At 270,000 square metres it takes up an entire city block in Manhattan and once served as a major commerce centre and processing location for shipping and receiving of cargo and goods. Today the building still acts as a hub for commerce, except now the cargo is in the form of data exchanged between major networks and cloud service providers.
