Megaport allows customers the opportunity to access the AMS-IX Peering service, while AMS-IX offers Megaport’s on demand private cloud access to major platforms, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
AMS-IX Peering Service
Megaport offers the AMS-IX Internet Exchange (“Peering”) service in selective markets in the world, where you can directly connect to AMS-IX from any Megaport enabled location. Connectivity options range from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps delivered on 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps Ethernet interfaces.

AMS-IX is the leading provider of Peering services for over two decades now. Established in the early 1990s, AMS-IX is a neutral, non-profit and independent Internet Exchange based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. AMS-IX interconnects hundreds of networks, making it one of the largest Internet Exchanges in the world.
The AMS-IX platform provides IP interconnection and Peering services of a guaranteed high quality for all types of IP traffic, irrespective whether this is traditional data, Voice over IP, mobile Internet traffic or video. By means of Peering, these networks can provide their end users (both consumers as well as companies) with stable, fast and cost-efficient Internet services.
AMS-IX also manages two additional Internet Exchanges abroad: AMS-IX Hong Kong and AMS-IX Caribbean on Curaçao. AMS-IX’s subsidiary company AMS-IX USA Inc. manages AMS-IX Bay Area, AMS-IX Chicago in the United States of America.
